Quite the weekend - Sat the 8th were time trials. Nick timed well and was 5th fastest in 120 open. Angelica on the other hand timed not so well.  In 5hp Briggs the kids timed 3rd and 4th.  Sunday would be race day and a trying day to boot. The first race for the kids would be 5hp briggs, the track was slick and a bit dusty.  For the most part the kids were doing ok until Angelica had a problem in turn 4. She got high in the loose dirt and slid off at full speed hitting  the guard rail very hard....I'll get some pics of the car posted later. She was shaken up and had a bump on her leg...whewww.  In 120 open (the last race of the day for the kids) was a good one. Nick got in 2nd early in the feature and drove a great  race. Angelica shook off the earlier crash, started 5th and drove a great race.  She kept her cool with two other drivers all over her and finished 3rd on the track. Unfortunately, Jake finished first but was DQ'ed for his car being too wide in the front. Nick And Angelica were moved up to first and second for...

Well the long weekend started out at Blue Mountain on Friday with both kids running In the 120 open class. Angelica had a very good nite. She raced very well all evening. She placed a nice 3rd in her heat race. Then she started 5th in the A Main race with the "Big Dogs" and raced to a very competitive 4th place finish.  The race went straight though with no yellows. Great Job Jelly....

Nickie's night was sorta a rough one. Atfer some bad luck in the heat, he had to race in the B main. Nicks Main race got off to a bad start. He was sent to the rear for a crash he had no part in...can you say the judges need to go to Eye Land. Nick did do a great job racing to a fine 4th place finish.                                                                                         

West End plus the fair race equals some crazy weather and frustrated racers. Saterday was HOT to say the least.. With just the heat races to be run we all wished for a quick day. The kids raced the 5hp stock heat first with Nick finshing 4th and Angelica 5th. Nick showed his no fear attitude with his wide open never lift style scaring his mom and others with his heat run. Well we've had quite the last few weeks. The kids are trying so hard but even one mistake racing in the 120 open class and you're done. This past week at Blue Mountain  was strange to say the least. Nickie was sat down for the night and we had Colton Rex sub'ing and he did a great job in winning the 2nd 120 open feature.  Angelica raced to a very well-deserved 3rd place in the same race. Saturday at West End was up and down. Nickie was back behind the wheel on Saturday .He ran very well in the beginning laps of the 120 open race only to make that one mistake that hurts his chance at a top 3 finish.  He did drive well till that point.  Angelica had a very quiet race and brought her car home in 7th. Briggs was once again the pain in the@!$T%$  Nickie's 3 hp blew up in the Main and after some hard work from her dad she brought her 5 hp home to a nice 4th place.

Well the kids have been going thought the up's and downs of racing right now. Things at Blue Mountain are tough the 120 open class.  It is very competitive and the kids are trying hard each week.  Right now the kids only have 3 finishes in the top 3 for the year. Angelica ran a nice race July 20th to get a 3rd place finish. West End also had some ups and downs. This past Sunday was the 120 open trophy race. 18 cars were there with a few outsiders. This meant there would be a few drivers not getting in the A Main for trophies. Nick and Jelly had to race the B Main with Nick passing Jelly for the 4 spot on the last lap.  He made it into the A Main. Nick started 10th and never got a shot at moving up in the Main, it wasn't run very well with only 11 of the 20 laps run due to the time limit. Earlier in the day Jelly finished 3rd in 5hp stock class

 We had a big weekend of racing. Friday was Blue Mountain where the kids made the A Main in 120 open and did a very good job finishing 5th and 6th racing with the Big Dogs. They ran a very clean and steady race and got to learn some more. Then we loaded up and headed for West End for the big Fire Cracker 40 weekend. Time trials were on Saturday with Jelly and Nick timing pretty good in 120 open. Angelica ran 5hp stock this weekend and timed 8th but she only had about 4 laps of practice and did well.  Nickie went out in 3hp Briggs and set Fast time!!!!  Way to go Nickie!!!

Sunday was feature day, 40 laps in the hot afternoon sun.. sounds like fun huh?  The kid raced together in the same feature. Nick started third and Jelly 4th.  Alot can happen in 40 laps and it did..but both kids raced smooth and smart to finish with Nick 2nd and Jelly 3rd...great runs kids...Jelly's 5 hp race was a different matter She was running steady and keeping outta' the way of the more experienced drivers when she was stuffed into the 1st turn wall for no reason....

The weekend started out pretty good at Blue Mountain. The Black Sheep team finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd for a sweep of the second 120 open feature. Jake won with Nick a close second and Angelica not far behind in 3rd. Nick led from the start till Jake passed him about lap 18. All the kids ran a great race with very few yellows and clean racing.

On Saturday at West End the kids ran ok in 120 open with Jelly getting 4th and Nick 5th. In briggs well..Jellys car developed motor problems and she was done for the day. Nick also has some minor prob's but got a 3rd.

This Friday it's Blue Mountain then a 2 day show at West End with 40 lap features...whew...

Well the learning curve in 120 open keeps getting harder. The kids had a rough weekend. Nick found the wall during warmups at Blue Mountain and had to miss his heat race he would have started on the pole. Angelica stayed out of trouble and finished 4th in the feature. Saturday at West End didn't get much better in 120 open.

Jelly finished a strong 2nd in the heat race with Nick bringing up the rear. They inverted the start so Nick had the pole and ran a very strong 2nd till he slipped up in the loose stuff out high and fell back. Jelly was up to 4th from her 7th starting spot she also found the loose stuff and slid into the front chute wall very hard with her car getting damaged heavily...Jelly's ok except for some bumps. In briggs the kids finshed the race 2nd and 3rd.  At least we made some progress in that class.
